Located on the corner of Norbulingka Road, directly below the Potala Palace, the Tibet Museum is aiming to document, preserve, exhibit and educate Tibetans and non-Tibetans on Tibet’s history, culture and present. Tibet Museum is designed by a Han Chinese architect from Sichuan province in 1998, with a combination of both Chinese and Tibetan architectural styles. Nowadays, it is equipped with modern facilities which can offer quality service for tourists and local people.
The museum is structured into three main sections, namely, a cultural garden, an administrative quarter and a main exhibition hall. It is a must-see attraction in Lhasa city for its beautiful building and wealth knowledge of Tibet. Tourists can start their Tibet tour from here.
