Traditional Tibetan Clothes
Tibetans are usually conservative in their clothes. They usually wear long-standing and unique Tibetan clothing together with colourful ornaments that featured by various styles and patterns. Archeologists claim that the traditional Tibetan clothes already has more than 4,600 years of history.
Tibetan style dark rope is characterised by loose waist, long sleeves and large lapel. Women usually wear this rope over a blouse, a colourful apron, which signals that she is not a girl anymore. Also, the faconne decoration reflects local people’s social status. For example, the existence of precious fur and silt piped sleeves, fundus and lapels suggest this man’s high personal status. Underlinen is essential when wearing a Tibetan style clothing. Male need to wear high collars and female will choose to wear turn-down collars which are both made with colourful silk material.
